In the pipline with official details to follow. A World Cup event is planned for the New Zealand Nats on 2 Jan 2020 (Subject to sanction approval). The NZ Nats are a week long event at the beginning of January with all classes of all kinds of Model Aviation. The FAI FF days is 2 Jan. The year the Nats will be held at Carterton that is about 80 km north of Wellington. This is farming country not far from Martinborough a major wine producing area. The Free Flight site is sheep farm with gently rolling grass. Retrieval on foot is easy. This is partly at the request of some Australian F1C flyers who figured that going across the ditch* to NZ is a whole cheaper than any other international travel to a World Cup event. (The ditch is a term used both New Zealand and Australia to refer to the 1000 plus miles of Tasman Sea that separates the two countries.) Organizer is Rob Wallace at ffonzrjw@gmail.com |

Fab Feb 2020
Numerous questions were received about the Fab Feb dates. As usually all events are subject to official confirmation as they need sanctions from both the FAI and the various NACs. The World Cup dates are approved by the CIAM in November.
Preliminary information is:
* Online sign up for FAI events – timeframe to be announced, but after the World Champs.
* Friday sign up for the FAI events at Lost Hills Community Center on 7 Feb.
* Ike/Kiwi on 8-10 Feb with the F1ABCPQ World Cup on Saturday 8 Feb.
* The North American World Cup is on 12 Feb.
* The 2 F1E events are on Monday 10 (Kiwi)and Thurs 13 Feb. (Cal Cup- MaxMen)
* The Ladies Tea Party on Tues 11 Feb
* International Dinner and Dumplings partly "sponsored" by the Chinese Team in the evening on Tuesday 11 February with reserve date on Thursday 13 February
* The MaxMen International starting on Friday 15 with World Cup F1B, F1C & F1P and
* F1A and F1Q on Saturday 16.
* The MaxMen Mini Events on Sunday 17 February
* America's Cup Banquet will be on 14 or 15 Feb (Friday or Sat) depending on venue availability.
As usual the Ike will have a variety of AMA events on 8 and 9 February. We are working on those details
There will be the usual online entry for the FAI events for all contests will be available in due course.
The above schedule is subject to official confirmation and details such as starting times, reserve days, entry fee will appear in the official event announcements. |

Zanimive (neuradne) informacije iz Srbije, kjer so se za organizacijo 2 tekmovanj za svetovni pokal potegovali organizatorji kar 4 tekmovanj. Med njimi sta za leto 2020 ostala 'klasični' 2 tekmi, Srem in Žigić, preostali dve tekmovanji pa naj bi bili prihodnje leto organizirani še kot 'Open international Non-World Cup' in mogoče prišli v poštev za svetovni pokal v prihodnjih letih. To sta Bačka kup, Sombor, 13.06. (rez. 27.06) in Morava kup, organizatorjev iz Trstenika, ki bi, po pridobitvi nekaj izkušenj z mednarodnimi tekmovanji, svoje tekmovanje organizirali v Aradcu.
Pred mladinskim svetovnim prvenstvom v Devi v Romuniji ne bo tekmovanja za svetovni pokal, bo pa romunska zveza organizirala odprto mednarodno tekmovanje, ki bo tudi v koledarju FAI. |

Organizers of WC events received the first draft of 2020 FF WC calendar.
We can find some new events in it - like 2 competitons in ARGentina, a new NZL event and spring event in Capannori (ITA), 2 Belarus events taking place in Russia etc... Changes include 2-in-1 weekend in Mostar (BiH) and in Valchitran (BUL), 3-in-1 CRO-SLO long weekend in Krbava (CRO) moved to mid-July.....

Online Entries for Fab Feb 2020
The online entry form got Fab Feb 2020 is now available. Note that the official CIAM World Cup Calendar has not come out yet. The CIAM meeting is soon, but no issues are anticipated.
All people flying in the FAI event should=must enter on line. Your entry will be taken and you will be given a summary of the charges. You do not pay until you arrive a Lost Hills. Most people will pay on 7 February, the Friday before the week’s flying starts but if you arrive later you still pay and take part in the contest. There can be up to 200 entries and it is just not possible to take care of everything before the first round of the Kiwi Cup. The AMA safety sheet and other forms are pre-printed ready for you so you do not have to write anything out and just need to sign them.

Round 2 9:00 am – 10:00 am Rnd 2: 240 sec max F1A/B/C/F1Q
Round 3 10:00 am – 11:00 pm Rnd 3: 180 sec max F1A/B/C/F1Q
Round 4 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Rnd 4: 180 sec max F1A/B/C/F1Q
Round 5 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Rnd 5: 180 sec max F1A/B/C/F1Q
F1A/B/C/Q Fly-offs start earliest 3:30 pm to 6:00 p.m. Latest (weather permitting – or Sunrise Wed or Thursday morning)
Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place F1A, F1B & F1C & F1Q. Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Teams.
Medals for top Junior in each event also! Champagne and snacks will be available Tuesday evening starting at 6:30 pm. Final awards ceremony will be after the final flyoffs.
(Sunrise for Feb 11th – 6:51 am Sunset – 5:36 pm – 17:36)
Deviations from the FAI sporting code and special instructions:
Competitors MUST provide their own timekeepers. Round 1 and 2 max time will be 240 sec or less depending on the weather conditions. Fly-off Max times and start time will be decided on the day with the Jury depending on the weather.
Team scores will be decided by the total time of the 3 contestants including flyoff times (ie: not as per the sporting code).
Note: A Starting “area” will be utilized without pole positions (depending on entry numbers)
